Hats tend to be a piece of your wardrobe that sits in the cupboard instead of seeing the light of day. They are often thought of as childish, for the royals or to be kept on the sports field, but I’m here to give you 5 reasons to bring them back into the everyday.
1. Sun Protection
Children are forced to wear hats in the playground to protect them from the sun. Here in Australia we even had the little saying “slip, slop, slap”. So to help look after your skin and eyes, slap on a hat.
2. Hide Bad Hair Days
If your hair is being especially stubborn or unruly, or perhaps you just don’t have time, a hat can help hide that. As you’re running out the door pop a hat on, hair up or down, and worry no more about hair taking on a life of it’s own.
Oh my gosh, is that the annoying mum from your daughter’s dance class walking this way? A slight turn of your head will shield your fine face from her view and you can carry on your day. Bonus, she is none the wiser and no one is offended or hurt.
4. Elevate Your Style
Take your look up a notch. Hats are a chic way to assert your style prowess.
You can go casual with a cap at your son’s football match.
Rock a fedora at whilst shopping at the markets.
For a wedding you could add glamour with a cloche hat, or a pillbox for a more formal affair.
My favourite is a wide brimmed, floppy hat when on a weekend away. They look fabulous!
5. Frame Your Face
Like your eyebrows, wearing a hat helps to create balance and focus to certain areas of your body, such as, your face.
Have I convinced you to look at hats again? What is your favourite hat?
